In the realm of architectural design, the Hill House project stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of nature and human creativity. Located on a picturesque hillside, this project provided a unique canvas for our team to craft a stunning garden landscape. Approved with enthusiasm by our discerning clients, the garden landscape project aimed to transform the rocky hill into a vibrant oasis of greenery, featuring accessible path and a captivating rockery.

The Hill House’s steep terrain posed both challenges and opportunities for our team. The initial survey revealed a rocky, uneven terrain with problematic access from ground floor to the garden at the basement level. While the client had a vision of a garden paradise that seamlessly integrated with the natural surroundings, they also emphasized the importance of accessibility and safety.

Our design process began with careful consideration of the site’s unique characteristics. We envisioned a multi-level terraced garden that celebrated the rugged beauty of the terrain while providing alternative accessible path for residents and their visitors. Safety and accessibility were paramount in our design. Apart from bare stone clad stairs that gracefully surrounds the house, we introduced an accessible pathway. It gently slopes down the hillside, ensures that individuals of all abilities can enjoy the garden’s beauty. Handrails and solar lighting fixtures are in strategic places to enhance both safety and aesthetics.

Lower level garden is turned into a simple grassy area where residents can find solitude as not visible from the street level. This part is a private garden, accessible directly from bedrooms located at basement level.

To create a lush green sanctuary, we decided to incorporate rockeries into our design. Local stones were used to construct these rockeries. A variety of native and adaptive plant species were carefully selected to thrive in the rocky environment, providing colour and texture throughout the seasons.

The success of this project underscored our commitment to creating spaces that harmonize with the environment while meeting the practical needs of our Clients. This project exemplifies how an initially challenging terrain can be moulded into a breathtaking garden oasis, resulting in a harmonious and inviting outdoor space that truly enhances the whole Hill House experience.
